Ralph is also known/spelled as Rudolph, Ranulph and Raoul. Warren is
also spelled Warrene. {W.H.Turton, "The Plantagenet Ancestry"
(Balt.:Gen.Pub.Co.,1968),p.112, gives Hugh, Bishop of Coutances
(d.1020) as father of Ralph de Warren.} - - - - - - - - Raoul (Ralph
de Warren) , Lord of Tancarville and High Chamberlain of William, Duke
of Normandy, founded Abbaye Saint-Georges-de-Boscherville , a
collegiate church in Saint-Martin-de-Boscherville, Normandy around
1050, on the site of a small chapel, which had itself been built on
top of a succession of pagan temples (brought to light by recent
archeological digs). He installed canons here, who were themselves
replaced by Benedictine monks in 1114.
